The Queen of Shops, Mary Portas, shows off her brand new necklace with Bonnie Bling, aka Mhairi Mackenzie.

Bonnie Bling was approached by staff in the new Mary Portas store in Glasgow's House of Fraser to create a unique piece of jewellery with a local sense of humour. How could I say no to an offer like that?!

I worked with the staff to design a modern twist on a cameo necklace featuring Mary's trademark haircut, and also featured the Glasgow word's of welcome 'awright' underneath the cameo to add that special Bonnie Bling touch.

'When I arrived at the event all of the staff were wearing their necklaces and they looked great with Mary's clothing range. I was introduced to Mary and gave her one of the necklaces, she loved it and insisted she put it on straight away! She encouraged me to share the news with social media and keep working hard at the branding and business development plan.'

The event had a really great atmosphere with lots and lots of lovely people in attendance including Obscure Couture, Mark Hogarth from Harris Tweed, Tessa Hartman, Carol Smillie, Blythe Duff and Mary's own partner Melanie Rickey. Everyone looked gorgeous and we were spoiled with champagne and delicious nibbles throughout the evening. The clothes looked great too, quite a wide range of designs, some not for me but others very wearable by women of all ages.
