I've been having a busy old time lately. Between the arrival of Baby Bling and keeping things ticking over at Bonnie Bling things round here have been a tad challenging to say the least!

However, never before have I had so much recognition for the work we do here at Bonnie Bling than in the past few mental months. First up was a listing as one of Professional Jewellers Hot 100 Trailblazing jewellers, was so strange doing a photoshoot for that with a huge baby bump!

Then we were finalists in the Scottish Rural Parliament's Innovator Awards, we didn't win but it was great to be recognised for our work in trying to build our business in a rural economy, namely on the Island of Bute.

We were then one of the winners of the Business Gateway's 'Best of the West' competition, this won us a stall at their Inverary based festival alongside some of Argyll and Bute's top creatives and producers. What a great day out we had!

And to top it all off, we were then finalists in not one but TWO award categories for The Herald Online Fashion Awards at the weekend. So I donned my Obscure Couture floor length maxi dress, was smothered in glorious glitter from new hair bar #Blow in Finnieston and headed out for a night on the tiles, my first in a very. long. time.

And what a night it was! Hey, Bonnie Bling didn't win, but what a lot of amazing creatives in one room. It was packed with energetic vibrant brands bursting at the seams with style and enthusiasm for the Scottish Fashion scene. I was truly honoured to have been shortlisted and though I did have to do the obligatory 'Loser' pose, I really did feel like a winner.

Huge congrats to everyone shortlisted and to the amazing winners. Lots of Bling love to our pals Isolated Heroes, Abandon Ship Apparel, Scot Street Style and Bee Waits for Noone who walked away with awards on the night.
